Thinking about Martial Arts for your kiddo?   There are many types of martial arts to choose from, each with their own history and unique style. Karate is a well known, centuries old, Japanese style of martial arts. Tae Kwon Do, the Korean art of self defense, has been practiced for more than 2000 years and has evolved to be an Olympic Sport!

Newer to the martial arts scene is Hyper Pro Training - a growing, hybrid martial arts program that combines traditional martial arts training and modern martial arts. Hyper Pro involves kicking, acrobatics and weapon techniques in a dynamic and powerful training style. The program has an extensive curriculum that offers technique and sequential training progressions that spans over 8 years of progression.

Joe Whitworth is the Owner/Head Instructor of Lee’s Martial Arts Academy in Lynnwood, WA.   Lee’s MAA offers many different styles of martial arts, and Hyper Pro is one of the more popular training styles for athletes of all levels. While Joe appreciates the regimented discipline of Tae Kwon Do, Hyper is the ideal program to compliment their training.

“For kids that have the basic Martial Arts training, Hyper adds an extra element of fun. Kids love the dynamic jumping and flipping. My competitive athletes benefit from the Hyper movements that improve core and leg strength.”

Joe has helped his athletes achieve World, National, and State Champions, but beyond the competition floor Joe also invests his time in the community. Joe visits local elementary schools and teaches a Hyper Anti-Bullying program. He teaches some physical martial arts skills, as well as techniques in conflict resolution - using words to deflate a situation, what to do in a dangerous situation, and, when and how to report abuse.

The mission statement of his program speaks volumes about the great philosophy of this facility which focuses on the physical AND emotional well being of the athlete.

“To create an atmosphere of self-discovery and personal growth to help

each student live a happier and more successful life.”

Joe’s program is an excellent example of providing a safe place for kids to grow to their potential. To find a Hyper Pro Training facility near you, click here!
