The Mountain Bar System takes bar skills and shaping to the next level. The specially engineered wooden bar rail is attached to steel framing that secures the bar to a firm foam bottom mat. Adding a T-Trainer to the Base Kit is ideal for more dynamic bar training skills. With the Base Kit Extension Block an additional 30 centimeters of space can be added for taller athletes using the setup.
Designed by Brett Wargo (renowned inventor of the Porcupine Pad and Head Coach at Ascend Gymnastics in Washington, USA), this system can be used for a wide range of skills. Athletes can confidently practice beginner skills such as handstand shaping and tap swing shaping. Advanced athletes will use it for giant swing shaping, Tkatchev drills and more without fear of the bar moving or shifting.
This Bundle includes the T-Trainer and the Mountain Bar Base Kit (featuring the foam block and wooden bar). There is an additional bundle option that also includes the Base Kit Extension Block for those athletes taller than 150cm to have optimal positioning with this setup.
The wooden rail is made of Beech and measures 90cm long and is attached to a steel frame that is engineered to fit securely in the firm foam bottom mat. Velcro flaps hold the frame to the bottom mat securely. The T-Trainer also has Velcro to attach the frame to the Base Kit and secure the entire system together.

- Use a damp cloth and warm soapy solution to clean all vinyl surfaces of the Mountain Bar System
- To remove excess chalk on the wooden rail, use a soft brush. Do not use water or chemical cleaners on the wooden rail as that may warp or damage the bar.
Can I add the Mountain Bar Top later if I want the foam mat?
Of course! You can easily swap out the T-Trainer and add the Mountain Bar Top (SKU: MBS-TOP) for use with the Base Kit. The foam mat would work great for squat-ons as it provides a firm place to land.
Can I order the bar frame only and use it in blocks that I already have?
The bar and steel frame attachment is designed to be recessed into the Mountain Bar System mats and has sturdy Velcro attachments that hold the frame in place. We do not recommend using the bar and frame except with mats in the Mountain Bar System.
Can taller athletes use the Mountain Bar System without the Extension Block?
Yes. However, taller athletes will benefit from using the Extension Block as we’ve found it allows for a better bounce on the T-Trainer bed for dynamic drills. Check out the product video above to see this detail in action!
