Back Handspring Body Wave

Purpose: An efficient back handspring has a body wave or whip like action that initiates rotation. Using an Octagon to "unfold" into the handstand phase will help the gymnast to understand the shapes involved in a powerful back handspring. This drill focuses on the second phase of the back handspring to create lift in the hips while maintaining a hollow chest, but keeping the hips flat.
